We had very humble beginnings starting out as a cubicle-based trio (Cristal, Meg and Matt) singing songs about hyperactive cats, swampbuggies and tornadoes. It's all we knew. As we added key members to the band--Lori on vocals, Tom on bass, Ross on drums--we developed our sound and expanded our songwriting to include topics such as building relationships, the destruction of those relationships, and the rebuilding of THOSE destructed relationships. And we ramped up a pretty fun live show in the process. "Misisipi" Mike Wolf was added to replace ex-boyfriend guitarist Jon Seltzer (long story) and there you have the modern sounds of The Bootcuts.
Love you kids! Spent the weekend at Tahoe with friends from Boston and NYC who all love you music! We must have listened to/sung along with "Ireegardless" 12 times. Can't wait for the next CD!
